Nina Davuluri, the reigning Miss Syracuse, was crowned the title of Miss New York America 2013 on Saturday, July 13, 2013 held at the St. George Theatre in Staten Island, NY.  Nina competed as Miss Syracuse against 23 other contestants and received a $10,000 scholarship.


The remaining top five were: Amanda Mason (first runner-up and recipient of $4,000 scholarship), Acacia Courtney (second runner-up and winner of $3,000 scholarship), Desiree Wiley, Miss Empire Rose (third runner-up and winner of $2,500 scholarship), and Teresa Lii, Miss Five Boroughs (fourth
runner-up and recipient of $2,000 scholarship).

Nina will compete for the title of Miss America 2014 in Atlantic City on September 15 with a platform of, “Celebrating Diversity through Cultural Competence.”  For her talent she performed Bollywood Fusion Dance, “Mere Dholna”

Krysta Prehoda was crowned Miss New York’s Outstanding Teen 2013 and will compete in Miss America’s Outstanding Teen 2014 pageant in Orlando, Florida this August.
