Kendra McKenzie Gill, a Utah beauty queen has been arrested for allegedly throwing homemade explosives, "at both property and people."

Kendra McKenzie Gill, who was 18 when she won the Miss Riverton pageant June 8, was arrested along with three other people: John Patrick Reagh, Shanna Marie Smith and Bryce Christopher Stone.
According to police, all four admitted to purchasing plastic bottles, aluminum foil and the chemicals necessary to make the incendiary devices. Stone told police that the group was "pranking" with fireworks.

"This goes well beyond a teenage prank," said Unified Fire Authority Capt. Clint Mecham. "They can do a great deal of damage to property," Mecham said, referring to the explosives. "They can sever limbs. They can even kill people."

Gill won the Miss Riverton pageant -- a preliminary event for Miss Utah and Miss America -- beating eight other contestants for a $2,000 scholarship. Gill played a Scott Joplin tune on the piano and chose the platform "Fit to be You," saying "You don't have to look just a certain way... it's about being healthy and happy."
