Lauren Guzman was crowned Miss Texas USA 2014, Sunday, September 1st, 2013 at the Hilton Houston Post Oak Hotel in Houston, Texas. Representing Central Laredo, Lauren will represent Texas in the Miss USA 2014 pageant.  The remaining top five were: Jordan Schultz (Dallas) as First Runner-Up, Yliana Guerra (South Texas) as Second Runner-Up, Peyton Saverance (Kemah) as Third Runner-Up, and Alejandra Gonzalez (South Central Texas) as Fourth Runner-Up.

The semi-finalists for this year’s competition were: Erin Kay (Galveston), Ligia De Uriage (Woodlands), Kenda Carroll (Bay Area), Alexandra Ahmadi (San Antonio), Brianna Webb (Lonestar), Tahnae Tarkenton (DFW),Victoria Sinclair (Sun City),  Caitlyn Rasmussen (Austin), Kourtney Magnes (Houston), Melissa Novak (Capital of TX), Stephanie Rivas (Franklin Mountain), Christine Entsminger (North Dallas).

For special awards Stephanie Rivas of Franklin Moutain won the Photogenic Award, Alyssa Adair of Midland County won Miss Congeniality, and Kenda Carroll of Bay area was Best in Swimsuit.

As Miss Texas USA 2014, Lauren received an array of prizes including a $45,600 scholarship to Lindenwood University, scholarship to the New York Film Academy; cash, wardrobe, jewelry, fitness and dental care.
