Candiace Dillard crowned Miss United States 2013


Candiace Dillard was crowned Miss United States 2013 on July 2-7, 2013 at the at the Spinx Club/Crystal City Marriott in Washington, DC.  Candiace competed as Miss District of Columbia United State 2013.  No stranger to pageantry, this 26 year old was first runner-up to Miss District of Columbia USA 2012.  According to the pageant website Candiace will spend her year encouraging young women across the country through her organization, My Sister’s Keeper. She looks forward to giving back as an ambassador of the Miss United States Organization through the American Cancer Society as well as forging new and exciting partnerships on its behalf.


She states, “I have always tried to live by the mantra that says, ‘go confidently in the direction of your dreams, and live the life you have imagined.” She finds herself very grateful and blessed to have such an opportunity and hopes to make her country proud throughout her reign as your 2013 Miss United States.
 At the same event, the following queens were crowned:
- Miss United States- Candiace Dillard (District of Columbia)
- Ms. United States- Jennifer Jones (North Carolina)
- Miss Teen United States- Lexe Richardson (Arizona)
- Miss Jr. Teen United States- Savanna Rae Brown (South Carolina)
- Miss Pre-Teen United States- Haley Hood (Tennessee)
- Little Miss United States- Olivia Travis (West Virginia).
