Haley Pontius crowned Miss Teen International 2013



Saturday, July 27, 2013, Haley Pontius was crowned Miss Teen International 2013.  Haley competed as Miss Teen Arkansas International against 43 teens from around the globe.  The remaining top five were: Laura McKenney, Miss Teen Alabama International (first runner-up), Ashlyn Cullifer, Miss Teen Florida International (second runner-up), Courtney Critz, Miss Teen West Coast International (third runner-up), and Jane Geist, Miss Teen California International (fourth runner-up).

The top ten for this year were: Courtney Critz (West Coast), Taylor Williams (Maryland), Madison VanDyke (District of Columbia), Jayne Geist (California), Ashlyn Cullifer (Florida), Haley Pontius (Arkansas), Megan Riesner (Illinois), Laura McKenney (Alabama), Angel Cartwright (Bahamas), and Madison Macher (Virginia).

Haley will use her year to promote platform, “Heart Health: It’s a family affair!” as well as the official Miss International alliance with the American Heart Association's Go Red for Women.

The Teen and Miss International Pageants are Mrs. International productions. Mrs. International began 23 years ago and the Teen competition was developed to promote today's teens, ages 13 - 18, the Miss competition was created to showcase single women, who are 19 to 29 years old and their accomplishments. Each contestant competes in Interview competition, which is valued at 40% of their total score, Evening Gown, valued for 20%, Fitness Wear for 20%, and Fun Fashion Wear 20%. Each contestant also has the opportunity to select a platform of her choice.
