Meet the 2013 Essence Contestants!

Essence Pageant is one of the nation’s leading multicultural pageants in the United States from women ages 13-70 years old. The national pageant will be taking place Saturday, July 20, 2013,  The Hilton Crystal City, 2399 Jefferson Davis Hwy, Arlington, VA 22202.  A Red Carpet & Autograph Signing will kick off the evening at 6:00 PM.  The pageant will begin at 7:00 PM.


This year a total of 22 women will be competing for one of five crowns: Miss Teen Essence 2013, Miss Essence 2013, Mrs. Essence 2013, Ms. Essence 2013, and Mrs Classic Essence 2013.

Aundrea Green, Miss Teen Essence 2012 will be on hand to crown the 2013 Miss Teen Essence. The four contestants vying for the national title are:

• Justyce Bennett, Miss Teen Maryland Essence 2013
• Kashema Ancrum, Miss Teen North America Essence 2013
• Victoria Nguyen, Miss Teen Northern Virginia Essence 2013
• Niasia Ellis, Miss Teen Virginia Essence 2013  

 

Jennifer Gray, Miss Essence 2012 will crown one the following 2013 Miss Contestants:

• Autumn Taylor, Miss District of Columbia Essence 2013
• Angelica Spicer, Miss Florida Essence 2013
• A'ngelique Tyree, Miss Empire State Essence 2013
• Elesia Summers-Thomas, Miss Maryland Essence 2013
• Tiffany Watts, Miss Missouri Essence 2013

LaFonda Parham, Mrs. Essence 2012 will crown one of five contestants: 

• Lateacha Coleman, Mrs. Georgia Essence 2013
• LaQuisha Hall, Mrs. Maryland Essence 2013
• Christine Schinner, Mrs. Northern Virgina Essence 2013
• Alexsis Johnson-Rasheed, Mrs. Pennsylvania Essence 2013
• Candice Sample, Mrs. Virginia Essence 2013

Kristen Speers, Ms. Essence 2012 was recently deployed to Afghanistan and will not be on hand to crown her successor, however, our prayers are with her and her family.  One of the following five women will some major stilettos to fill.

• Tara Bigbie, Ms. Alabama Essence 2013
• Peta Gay-Lewis, Ms. District of Columbia Essence 2013
• Monique Boyd, Ms. Maryland Essence 2013
• Rosanna Cooper, Ms. North Carolina Essence 2013
• Melanie Howard, Ms. Virgina Essence 2013

Three women are competing for the title of Mrs. Classic Essence 2013.  Maria Beall, Mrs. Classic Essence 2012 will crown one of the following:

 

• Maurene Bullock, Mrs. Classic Delaware Essence 2013
• Nancy Kroese, Mrs. Classic Iowa Essence 2013
• Jonzetta Carter, Mrs. Classic Maryland Essence 2013
